Let’s be honest, whether you are working long hours in an office like me, or a full-time mum – or both, we’re all guilty of powering through the day without taking a well-deserved break to recharge and re-set for the next task on the never-ending ‘to do’ list. Tea time seems to be becoming a relic from a by-gone era. Afternoon tea is a tradition that has been upheld for generations in many countries around the world, in various forms. Baker Delights wants to bring it back with the introduction of two new delicious scone varieties: Orange & Poppy Seed and Jaffa Scones. I’m glad to announced, Afternoon Tea is Back!
I love tea nearly as much as I like chocolate! I drink primarily green tea and herbal tea. I like to drink my tea in a beautiful cup, while listening to soft music, just thinking quietly and feeling happy and grateful. On the weekend I enjoy having a quiet moment simply flicking through my favourite magazine, sipping my warm tea slowly… hmmm. On week days, I drink tea twice a day: with my breakfast in the office, browsing through my emails and planning the day ahead and after my lunch to ease into the afternoon.
Taking a little time for ourselves each day to reflect and recharge is a healthy habit. Now more than ever is important we all take a break each day for a soothing hot drink and to catch up on this blog, perhaps…?!
Do you ever stop for afternoon tea?
What does the tradition of afternoon tea mean to you?
